Poster Session

Welcome to the poster session information page! Here, you will find all the necessary details regarding the poster session. Whether you are preparing to present your research or looking to understand the evaluation process, this page provides comprehensive information to help you succeed in the poster session.

If you plan to contribute a poster, please  answer the question regarding the poster when you register to CU*iP. There is no  abstract submission. We need your answer to have the correct number of poster boards.

Poster Dimensions

The maximum allowable dimensions for posters are 48 inches wide by 36 inches tall. Please ensure your poster fits within these dimensions to avoid any display issues.

Judging Process

Judging for the poster session will be conducted as follows:

  • Availability: Participants are required to be available at designated times of the session to answer questions and engage with judges.
  • Judging Appointments: Judges will circulate and evaluate posters at designated times. Participants do not need to schedule specific appointments, but they should be prepared for judges to visit their posters at any time during the session.
  • Presentation and Viewing Time: The session will be divided into two halves. Participants will spend 50% of the time presenting their posters, and the remaining 50% will be viewing other posters.

Tips for Making a Poster

Creating an effective poster involves clear communication of your research. Here are some tips to help you design your poster:

  1. Title and Author Information: Ensure your title is concise and informative. Include your name, affiliation, and any collaborators.
  2. Layout: Organize your content in a logical flow. Use columns to separate different sections such as Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
  3. Visuals: Use high-quality images, graphs, and charts to illustrate your points. Visuals should be clear and directly related to your research.
  4. Text: Keep text to a minimum. Use bullet points and short sentences. Ensure the font size is large enough to be read from a distance.
  5. Colors and Fonts: Use contrasting colors to highlight important sections. Stick to 2-3 colors and use sans-serif fonts for readability.
  6. Practice: Prepare a brief summary of your research and practice presenting it concisely. Be ready to answer questions about your work.
